Bring an old film negative back as a clean photo
A strip of negatives from a family camera can hold pictures nobody has ever seen. Photograph it on a bright screen or scan it, send the frame, and the bot returns a positive picture with the dust and scratches gone.

When you need this
- You do not own a film scanner and a lab charges per frame.
- Inverted colors from a phone app look washed out and green.
- The emulsion is scratched and speckled with dust.
How to do it
- 1
Press the button to open @visumate_ai_bot in Telegram. No sign-up, and new users get 15 free credits, which is 7 images.
- 2
Scan or photograph one frame at a time against a bright screen. Send it as a file. In the caption write: 'black and white negative, invert to a natural positive, remove dust and scratches'.
- 3
In 1-2 minutes the positive arrives for 2 credits. Check faces first, then the corners where emulsion damage hides.
Try it on your own photo: 7 images are free, no sign-up.
Make it in TelegramShooting the negative
Lay the strip on a white screen with a blank page, set your phone flat above it, and avoid reflections by dimming the room. Take one frame at a time. Color negatives have an orange mask, so mention 'color negative' in the caption. If the frame is very dark, take a second photo at a longer exposure and send both.
What to expect
Contrast and tone are rebuilt for the positive, and surface defects are cleaned. Grain stays, since it belongs to film. Fine details inside heavy shadows can be guessed, so compare faces with the negative itself. Store the original strips in sleeves afterward and label the frames, so you know which picture came from which roll. Expect to rerun a faint frame once or twice.
Tips
- Use a plain white screen at full brightness as a light table.
- Shoot straight on and fill the frame with one negative.
- Say whether it is black and white or color negative.
- Tell the bot the rough decade if the colors look odd.
