Slide film has three dye layers, and each fades at its own rate. Usually the cyan layer goes first, so the picture turns red or magenta. Instead of one global filter, the bot judges colors by content, such as a blue sky, green leaves and skin. That tends to land closer to the real scene than a single slider would.
