Restore a carte de visite portrait
A carte de visite is about the size of a playing card, and the face on it can be smaller than your thumbnail. Every flaw looks large. Scan it at a high setting, send the file, and the bot rebuilds a readable face from the small image.

Make it in TelegramTiny faces
When a face fills only a small part of the image, the bot has fewer pixels to work with, and it begins to invent. Cropping the portrait from the card and sending that crop gives better likeness than sending the whole card. Run the full card too, for the border and the lettering. Then compare both. If features differ between the two, trust the crop for the face and the card version for the surroundings.
The back of the card
Studios printed their name, address and sometimes a coat of arms on the reverse. That detail can help you narrow down where and roughly when it was taken. Scan the back before you restore anything. Do not run it through the bot unless the print is damaged, since fresh lettering could change words. Keep both scans in one folder with the same file name plus 'front' and 'back'.
Tips
- Scan at the top resolution your scanner allows.
- Scan the back as a separate file and keep the studio stamp.
- Crop the face and run it as a second image for more detail.
- Skip filters on your phone camera if you have a scanner.
Questions and answers
Can I print it at wallet size again?
Yes. The restored file can be printed at the original card size.
Should I remove the card from the album?
Only if a conservator suggests it. A flat scan on the page is often enough.
What does it cost?
2 credits per image. New users get 15 free credits, so 7 images cost nothing. After that packs start at 129 Telegram Stars, about $2.6 and credits do not expire.
Does the bot work in English?
Yes. It picks up your Telegram language on first launch. You can switch it any time with /lang.
What the bot does not do
- Does not print photos and does not retouch passport or ID photos.
- Does not promise a fixed pixel size. Check the result at full size before printing.
- Heavily damaged faces are reconstructed by AI and may not look like the person. Compare with another photo.
- Does not make video or animate the photo.
