Remove moire from a scanned photo
Moire shows up when a scanner's grid meets the fine dots or texture of a printed picture. It looks like waves or a woven fabric laid over the face. Scan once at a different setting, send the best file, and the bot flattens the ripple.

Make it in TelegramWhy it appears
Printed photos from books and magazines are made of tiny dots. When a scanner samples a grid over a grid, the two patterns interfere and produce waves. A slight twist of the print usually moves the waves around, and one angle may be cleaner than others. Do three scans at different angles and choose the one with the least pattern. The bot works better on a milder starting point than on a heavy one.
Textured papers
Some family prints were made on linen or pebbled paper. The texture is pleasant in hand and awful on a scan. Gentle side light from a phone, with a flat dark cover around, can hide it better than a scanner can. Whatever source you use, look at the face and the hair first. If skin has turned plasticky, ask for 'keep natural skin texture' and run again.
Tips
- Rotate the print a few degrees on the glass and rescan.
- Try a lower scan resolution as an experiment.
- Turn off your scanner's built-in sharpening.
- Use the descreen option if your scanner has one.
Questions and answers
Is moire the same as noise?
No. Moire has a regular wave pattern. Noise is random grain.
Can it fix a photo of a screen?
Photos of screens show a similar pattern. Try the same caption.
What does it cost?
2 credits per image. New users get 15 free credits, so 7 images cost nothing. After that packs start at 129 Telegram Stars, about $2.6 and credits do not expire.
Does the bot work in English?
Yes. It picks up your Telegram language on first launch. You can switch it any time with /lang.
What the bot does not do
- Does not print photos and does not retouch passport or ID photos.
- Does not promise a fixed pixel size. Check the result at full size before printing.
- Heavily damaged faces are reconstructed by AI and may not look like the person. Compare with another photo.
- Does not make video or animate the photo.
