Bring back the colors of a faded home inkjet print
Prints from the home inkjet printers of the 2000s fade surprisingly fast. The dyes go pale and the picture turns blue or washes out to pink. Send a photo of the print and the bot rebalances the color, so you get back something close to the day it was printed.

Make it in TelegramDyes versus pigments
Many home printers used dye inks, which fade quickly in light and open air. Pigment inks last longer. When dyes go, colors do not fade evenly, so a print shifts toward the color that lasts the longest. The bot rebalances the channels and rebuilds contrast. It gets closest when the print is not completely washed out, and it gets less exact in the palest corners.
Check the original file
A print from a home printer usually began as a digital file. Search the old computer, a camera card or an email for it before you restore the print. A file will always beat a faded print. If it is lost, restore the print and save the result in a safe place, with a backup, so you do not face the same problem in another ten years.
Tips
- Check whether the digital file still exists.
- Mention the year and the printer type.
- Scan both the lighter and the darker side.
- Store the new print away from direct light.
Questions and answers
Can a completely white print be saved?
Not fully. Areas with no ink left can only be reconstructed.
Why did my print turn blue?
Some dyes fade faster than others, so the remaining dye dominates.

2 credits per image. New users get 15 free credits, so 7 images cost nothing. After that packs start at 129 Telegram Stars, about $2.6 and credits do not expire.
