When you need this
- A soldier portrait from decades ago has creases and stains.
- The uniform color is unknown.
- The family wants a clean display copy.
How to do it
- 1
Open @visumate_ai_bot in Telegram with the button on this page and press Start. No sign-up is needed.
- 2
Send the scan or phone picture as a file (document) so Telegram does not compress it. In the caption write: soldier portrait, repair damage, olive green uniform, dark cap, keep the face unchanged.
- 3
In 1-2 minutes you get the repaired and colorized picture in one image. Download it, and rerun if something needs a closer look.
Try it on your own photo: 7 images are free, no sign-up.
Make it in TelegramUniform and details
Uniform colors differ across armies and years. The AI cannot know yours. Medals and insignia are small shapes that may change when repaired. After the run, compare them with the original, and if something looks wrong, rerun with a caption that says keep insignia unchanged. Compare faces with other photos of the same person, since the AI works from patterns and a rebuilt face may not match exactly.
For displays and records
A restored service portrait can go on a wall or into a memorial book. Add a note that it was restored and colorized with AI. Keep the original scan in the family archive with the name, rank and dates you know. Save every version in the same folder and add the year and the names to the file name so nothing gets mixed up later.
Tips
- State the uniform color if there is a record.
- Medals and insignia are small, check them against the original.
- Keep the restored black-and-white copy as well.
- Do not rely on colors for identification of units.
