The hardest part is telling a foxing speck from a freckle. The bot makes a guess from shape and tone, and it sometimes removes both. If your grandmother had a mole near her mouth, write 'keep the mole on the left cheek' in the caption. Review the face at full size and rerun with a more specific note if something went missing. Backgrounds and clothes are far easier and usually need one pass.
Damp storage
Foxing hints that the print lived in humid conditions, so it may also have mold or sticky pages. Do not seal it in plastic until it is dry. Let it rest in a ventilated room for a few days, then move it into an archival sleeve. Scan before you do anything else to the paper.
