Remove punch holes and staple marks from a photo
Photos from school projects and scrapbooks often carry holes from staples, tacks or a hole punch. The hole is usually in the sky or on a wall, but sometimes right on a shoulder. Scan the print on a dark sheet, and the bot fills the gaps to match the nearby area.

Make it in TelegramFilling the gap
A hole in a plain sky is easy. A hole across a patterned shirt or a hand is much harder, and the bot may repeat a texture. Name the object in the caption, for example 'hole on the left sleeve, continue the stripes'. Check the repair at full size, and if a seam shows, try the request once more. A small hole on a face may be better left for a careful manual touch afterward in an editor.
What the scanner sees
Some scanners place a black lid over the print, so a hole shows up as a dark circle. Others use a white lid, and the hole disappears into the background. Pick the one that gives better contrast against the paper, and avoid a lid color that matches the picture. If you scan from above with a phone, put a clean sheet of paper under the print so you can tell exactly where each hole sits.
Tips
- Scan the print on a sheet of contrast color so holes stand out.
- Tell the bot how many holes there are and where.
- Remove rust rings in a second pass.
- Use archival albums for the restored prints.
Questions and answers
Will the print itself look repaired?
No. Only the scanned file changes. The physical print keeps its holes.
Can it remove tape marks from a school project too?
Yes, though there is a dedicated page for tape marks.
What does it cost?
2 credits per image. New users get 15 free credits, so 7 images cost nothing. After that packs start at 129 Telegram Stars, about $2.6 and credits do not expire.
Does the bot work in English?
Yes. It picks up your Telegram language on first launch. You can switch it any time with /lang.
What the bot does not do
- Does not print photos and does not retouch passport or ID photos.
- Does not promise a fixed pixel size. Check the result at full size before printing.
- Heavily damaged faces are reconstructed by AI and may not look like the person. Compare with another photo.
- Does not make video or animate the photo.
