When you need this
- A torn photo was taped together years ago and the tape turned amber.
- Glue from an album page left a hazy frame.
- Corner tape is still on the print and shows as a dark band.
How to do it
- 1
Tap the button on this page. Telegram opens the bot, press Start and the right mode is already selected.
- 2
Send the scan or phone picture as a file (document) so Telegram does not compress it. In the caption write: yellow tape strip across the center, remove the tape and the glue stain.
- 3
In 1-2 minutes the repaired photo arrives in the chat. Download it, compare it with the original and run again if a spot was missed.
Try it on your own photo: 7 images are free, no sign-up.
Make it in TelegramTape shows up as a color band
Aged tape usually looks like a straight yellow or brown strip, sometimes with shiny edges. The AI recognizes it as a foreign layer and rebuilds the picture beneath. On backgrounds this works well. Where tape crosses a face, details under the strip are reconstructed, so look at the eyes and mouth and compare them to another photo if you have one.
Joining and cleaning together
If tape holds two pieces together, the tear line often sits under it. The bot can clean both the tape and the join in one run. For best results, scan the print flat and avoid shadows around the tape edges. If the tape is peeling, flatten it with a soft cloth only, and do not add new tape. The first launch gives 15 free credits, which is enough for 7 images, so you can test the result on your own picture before buying anything.
Tips
- Do not peel old tape off the print, it can pull the surface away.
- Scan from the front with soft light, tape reflects glare easily.
- Tape over faces is the hardest case, check likeness in the result.
- Remove glare by tilting the print slightly while photographing it.
Questions and answers
Can the bot remove tape that is over a face?
Yes, but the face may change slightly. Compare with the original.
Should I remove the tape first?
No, leave it. You can digitize the print as it is.
Does the glare matter?
Yes. Glare hides detail, so avoid it when taking the picture.
Will it remove the glue halo?
Usually, it is treated as a stain.
