Light damages dyes and silver in proportion to how much reaches them. A frame near a window gets a gradient, and a mat leaves a crisp edge where the cover blocked the rays. Plain brightness sliders cannot cure that, since each part of the picture needs its own boost. The bot treats regions separately and tries to match the better side. Very pale zones will rely on its guess.
Hanging copies, not originals
After restoration, print a copy for the wall and keep the original in an acid free sleeve. Frames with ordinary glass pass much of the ultraviolet light that caused the damage in the first place.
