Color correction is easier when the software knows something that must be white or gray. Mention it in the caption, such as 'the wedding cake is white and the tablecloth is white'. A known object lets the bot align the rest. If the picture has no obvious neutral, mention a skin tone or the sky. Without anchors, the result is a plausible guess, and you should treat it as one.
Slides and prints
Slide film tends to shift toward red or magenta in the long run, while prints shift in various ways. The method is the same, but slides have more tonal information left in them, so results are often better.
