Soft focus, mild out-of-focus blur, film grain, noise and compression artifacts respond well. Edges get cleaner, fine texture such as hair and fabric comes back, and the picture looks sharper at the same size.
Faces are kept as they are. The mode is built to sharpen without changing how the person looks, but you should still compare.
Where the limits are
Strong motion blur and very low resolution cannot be undone. The AI reconstructs missing detail from patterns, so it fills in what it thinks should be there. In a face this can shift an eye shape, a smile or a hairline. Tiny faces in a group photo are the riskiest.
If a face matters for a print or a memorial, compare the result with another photo of the same person.

Tips
