Sharpen a blurry old photo
Many old photos are blurry because of cheap lenses, shaky hands or a bad scan. The sharpen mode reconstructs edges and detail, with honest limits.

BeforeAfter
In short: Soft focus and shaky hands blur many old family photos. Send the picture to the bot and get a sharper version with clearer faces and edges.
- Where: the VisuMate bot in Telegram, no app or sign-up.
- Cost: 2 credits per image, 7 images free, then packs from 49 Telegram Stars.
- Time: 1 to 2 minutes per image, rerun with a new instruction at the same price.
When you need this
- A treasured picture is too soft to read faces.
- The scan looks hazy and flat.
- You can only find one copy of the photo.
How to do it
- 1
Open @visumate_ai_bot in Telegram with the button on this page and press Start. No sign-up is needed.
- 2
Send the picture as a file (document) so Telegram does not compress it further. In the caption write: sharpen this old photo, clear faces, keep the original look.
- 3
In 1-2 minutes the sharpened picture arrives in the chat. Download it and compare faces with the original at full size.
Try it on your own photo: 7 images are free, no sign-up.
Make it in TelegramWhat sharpening can do
The AI predicts edges and fine detail that the blur has hidden. Eyes, hair and text on signs often look clearer. But the added detail is a guess, so a face can change slightly. Compare the result with the original and keep both. Handle the original print by the edges and store it in an acid-free sleeve away from sunlight and damp.
When it will not help
Heavy motion blur, very small faces and out-of-focus shots lose real information. The bot does its best, but results vary. If the picture is badly blurred, you may get a pleasant looking face that is not exactly the person. Use judgment for important portraits. If the first result is close but not right, change the caption a little and send the picture again.
Tips
- Scan again at a higher dpi before blaming the photo.
- Send as a document, not as a compressed photo.
- Compare faces at 100 percent zoom.
- Do not sharpen more than twice, artifacts build up.
