Restore an old graduation photo
Graduation portraits were framed and hung for decades, and the sun did its work. The black gown went brown, the face went pale and the glass left spots. Photograph the picture flat and send it for a careful restoration.

Make it in TelegramA moment for the wall
Graduation photos mark a big day. The face and the gown matter most. Ask for natural skin tones and a deep, clean black for the gown, then compare with the original. If it looks too sharp, rerun with a softer caption. A printed copy for the person pictured or for the family is a lovely gift. Add the year and the school in the file name before you share it around.
Class photos
For group graduation photos, many faces are tiny. Use the sharpen pages for faces and the school class photo page for group shots. Check each face against the original, and add names in your layout from the back of the print. Store the original flat in an acid-free sleeve and keep the digital copies in two places. Large class photos are best handled in parts, one row after another.
Tips
- Remove the picture from the frame if it is safe to do so.
- Otherwise, shoot at an angle to avoid glare.
- Note the year and school on the back.
- Ask for a colorized copy afterwards if you want one.
Questions and answers
