Where the blocks come from

Two things cause the squares. Heavy compression splits a picture into small blocks that no longer match, which is common in pictures forwarded many times. And enlarging a very small file stretches each pixel into a square. The bot treats both the same way: it blends the blocks, sharpens the shapes and draws in texture such as skin, grass or fabric so the picture reads as a photo again.

What it cannot do

It cannot read a face or a number out of a heavily pixelated area. If a region was blurred or mosaicked on purpose, the AI will invent something plausible, and that invention is not the hidden content. For faces, this means the result can look like a different person. Use the result for how the picture looks, never to identify anyone.

Getting the best file

Send the file as a document, so Telegram keeps the data you have. The bot returns the image at a good resolution for screens and small prints, with no fixed pixel size. Check the result at full size before you use it anywhere that matters. If the picture also has scratches or fading, run the restore mode first and sharpen afterward.

Tips

Find the earliest copy of the picture. Each re-save in a messenger adds more blocks.
Do not shrink the picture before sending, since fewer pixels leave less to work with.
Straight lines and text are hard for any AI. Check them letter by letter.
If the picture is a screenshot of a screenshot, expect softer results.

Can AI remove a mosaic that hides a face?

No. It invents a plausible face. That result is not the hidden person.

Why does my photo look pixelated?

Usually from a very small file or from heavy compression after many re-saves.
