Colorize home front photographs
Not every wartime picture shows soldiers. Many show factory floors, farm work and families at home. The bot colorizes them with natural tones and you can add work clothes and tools in the caption.

How to do it
- 1
Tap the button on this page. Telegram opens the bot, press Start and the right mode is already selected.
- 2
Send the black-and-white photo as a file (document) so Telegram does not compress it. In the caption write: factory worker in a gray overall and brown headscarf, steel machine, concrete floor.
- 3
In 1-2 minutes the colorized picture arrives in the chat. Download it, and if a color is off, run again with a hint in the caption.
Try it on your own photo: 7 images are free, no sign-up.
Make it in TelegramWorkwear and tools
Clothing in workplaces is usually practical and muted. The AI picks similar colors, but tools may be painted in particular shades. If you know that a machine was green or red, say it. For metal and concrete, the default is a neutral gray. A better scan helps more than any setting, so rescan the print at 600 dpi or higher if you still have it.
Telling the story
A colorized factory or farm picture works well as an illustration in a family history. Label it as colorized and state the source in the text. Keep the original scan because it carries details that the AI may smooth over. Treat the result as a careful interpretation of the original and share it together with the untouched scan. Compare faces with other photos of the same person, since the AI works from patterns and a rebuilt face may not match exactly.
Tips
- Work clothes were often gray, blue or brown, hints help.
- Machines and metal tend to be neutral, ask for steel gray.
- Sunlight and indoor lights are guessed by the AI.
- Keep a label with the year and place in the file name.
